A lifelong resident of Johnson and Waterville, he graduated from Lamoille Union High School, Class of 1992. He was a professional iron worker first employed by Cody Steel Fabricators and currently by B.G.M. Inc. of Hardwick. Chad was an avid outdoorsman, sugarer and successful deer hunter.

He coached a girls softball team. Chad is survived by his parents, Donald and Inez of Johnson; by the love of his life and life partner, Tanya Russin; his sons, Tucker "Buddy" and Dyne "Little and his sister, Monique (Garrett) Messier and her husband, Ed, of Berkshire. Also surviving are Chad's two nieces, Cayla "Pooter" and Krista "Munchkin," as well as one of his special friends, Randy "Chief" Locke. The family will receive friends Friday 7 to 9 and Saturday 1 to 4 from p.m. at the des Groseilliers Funeral Home, Main Street, Johnson.

19, 2003, in Fletcher Allen Health Care, surrounded by her devoted family, following a lingering illness. She was born in Rutland on Nov. 19, 1948, the daughter of Daniel P. and Rosemargaret Keech. Susan graduated from South Burlington High School and had taken courses at Community College of Vermont.

She was employed by Fletcher Allen Health Care from 1986 to 1994. Susan owned and operated her own cleaning business at one time. More recently, she had worked at Filene's and J.C. Penney. She was a talented artist and enjoyed sewing and photography.

She is survived by her mother, Rosemargaret Keech of South Burlington; her daughter, Kelly Spencer and husband, Merle, or Oregon; her brother, Jack Keech and his wife, Kim, of Colchester; two grandchildren, Emma and Noah; nephNicholas Keech; nieces Elycia and Brittany; numerous cousins; a special aunt, Betty; and good friend Mary Jane Tucker. The family wishes to thank the staff on Baird 4 at FAHC, Dr. Dennis Sanders and Liesel Steiner for the wonderful care Susan received. EVERETT ARLAN BRITCH ENOSBURG FALLS Everett Arlan Britch, 69, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, in the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. Everett was the third generation born on the family farm in Bakersfield on Mary 5, 1934, the son of the late Flossie Wells Britch and Rolice Britch Jr. Everett farmed for many years prior to driving bus for Wrightholm Bus Lines in Enosfor 25 years, retiring in 1997.

He enjoyed making log cabin birdhouses, miniature furniture, and watching and reading about the weather. He also enjoyed riding the back roads and, most recently, riding his scooter around the village. He is survived by his wife, Barrows, Angela, and Billie Castro had a daughter, Elizabeth Marie Castro, Aug. 15 at PMC. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Britch in 1957; two sisters, Marchaline Cummings and Thelma Aldrich; and a brother, Clifton Britch.

In keeping with Everett's wish, there will be no funeral services. A private graveside committal will take place in the family lot in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bakersfield at the convenience of the family. Perkins, 47, husband of Kathleen (McGettrick) Perkins, died unexpectedly in Fletcher Allen Health Care on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced in Friday's edition of the Free Press. Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant Essex Junction, is in charge of arrangements. HOLLIS NEAL TOMLINSON ARCADE, N.Y.

Hollis Tomlinson, 74, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, in Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, Vt. He had been a longtime resident of Arcade. He and his wife were visiting their sons in Vermont.

He was born July 23, 1929, in Colchester, the son of the late Neal and Alice (Bixby) Tomlinson. He graduated from Essex Center High School. Jan. 22, 1949, Hollis married Aug. 10 at NMC.

Albans; PMC Porter Medical Center, Middlebury. PAID NOTICES KATHERINE L. BAKER MONTGOMERY CENTER Katherine L. Baker, 34, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, surrounded by her loving family, in the Vermont Respite House in Williston following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Kathy was born May 15, 1969, inSt. Albans, the daughter of Margaret (Aston) Sturtevant and the late Ronadl Sturtevant. Kathy was a 1987 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. Following high school, she was employed by Sid Berkson and Phil Gerbode at the Main Street Mall in Enosburg Falls, then as the office manager and real estate agent at Poquette Bruley Real Estate in St. Alban.

For the past two years, she was loan originator at the Lyndonville Savings Bank in Enosburg Falls. She was a member of the Franklin County Board of Realtors and former treasurer and secretary of the Montgomery Fire Department. Kathy enjoyed singing and music and took oK great pride in her flower gardens. She will be remembered by her sense of humor and always having a way of making people feel good and special, even during her most difficult of times. She is survived by her husband, Billy Baker Jr.

of Montgomery Center; her cherished children, Jarad and Gavin Baker of Montgomery Center; her mother, Margaret Sturtevant Pudvah of St. Albans; her brother, Michael Sturtevant and his fiancee, Lorna Letourneau, of Northfield; her sister, Lori Griffin of Richmond and her family; her in-laws, Bill and Baker of Montgomery Center; her brother-in-law, Gary Baker and his son, Wyatt, of Montgomery Center; her sisCorrine Baker and her children, Jesse and Jenna in Bassett of Hyde Park; many special friends and extended family, all of whom have been very loving and supportive through Kathy's illness. He retired from IUOE Local 17 in 1992 as an operating engineer. He was a member of Mount Mansfield Lodge 26, for numerous years. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley of Arcade; their two sons, Neal Tomlinson of Milton, and Scott Tomlinson and his wife, Penny, of St. Albans; three grandchildren, James Michael, Darcy Lynn and Megan Elizabeth Tomlinson; two sisters; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Stephen Tomlinson in 1990.

Visiting hours are Friday, Aug. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant Essex Junction. A graveside memorial service conducted by Mount Mansfield Lodge 26, will be held at 3 p.m. in Mountainview Cemetery in Essex Center.

HOWARD ROCK GLADDING BRISTOL Howard Rock Gladding, 93, died Monday, July 21, 2003. He was born July 11, 1910, and lived in Bristol nearly all of his life.

As a teen-ager, he helped to build the New Haven to Bristol railroad. During World War I1, he served in the U.S. Army. the 1960s, he founded the" Bristol Trading Post, which he owned for many years. He was very active throughout the town.

He was a member of the American Legion, past president of the Bristol Cemetery Association, a member of the Bristol Federated Church, one of the founders of the Bristol Historical Society and responsible for its residence in Howden Hall. He was a member of Bristol Rotary International for 50 years, had been president and received a number of honorary awards. Friends recalled his interests in hunting the fields and woods, fishing and ice fishing in Otter Creek, Lake Champlain and Bristol Pond, with occasional treks to the Atlantic Ocean. He was always ready to play a game of pool with a buddy. His interest in antiques and their repair and refinishing had kept him busy for years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Anna (Boynton), to whom he was married for 67 years. Howard is survived by daughter Eleanor G. Hoehn and husband, Richard, of Marshfield, three grandchildren, Colin Hoehn of Cohasset, Kirsten Hoehn of Hull, and EriHoehn of Marshfield, and great-granddaughter Lilly Hoehn of Cohasset, Mass. So many people have helped with and shared in Howard's activities. Thanks to you all.

A service of remembrance will be held Sunday, Aug. 24, at 3 p.m. in the Bristol Federated Church with a reception immediately following. Contributions in his memory may be made to The Bristol Historical Society, Bristol, Vt. 05443.
