(RAYMOND) COUTURE MONTPELIER Raymond Couture, 76, of Montpelier passed from this life peacefully on Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, in Woodridge Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for the past seven years. Born March 19, 1930, Mr. Couture was a lifelong resident of Vermont, born i in Northfield and living his childhood years in Barre, and adult years in Montpelier. Mr.

Couture served his country during the Korean War, stationed inAnchorage, Alaska. Upon returning he was employed by State Equipment Co. for the next 26 years. He then spent the rest of his career, until retirement, working at the Linen Shoppe in Montpelier. Mr.

Couture was first married on Dec. 1, 1951, to Margaret A. Kerin of Montpelier. The couple had six children and lived their entire married life in Montpelier until Margaret died on Feb. 23, 1981, at the age of 48.

Mr. Couture was also preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph, born and died on Jan. 23, 1965. On June 10, 1989, Mr. Couture was married for the second time to Catherine Segale (Couture) of Montpelier.

Raymond and Cathy have resided in Montpelier their entire married life. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Segale Couture of Montpelier; three daughters, Deborah Couture Brush, Barbara Couture Lens, both of Windsor, and Theresa Couture Schneiderheinze of Bedford, N.H.; three sons, Richard Couture of Ithaca, N.Y., Thomas Couture of Lubbock, Texas, Leonard Couture, Greenland, N.H.; 16 grandchildren; four stepsons, Anthony Segale of Atlanta, Michael Segale of Montpelier, Joseph Segale of Huntington, Thomas Segale of Natick, two stepdaughters, Ann Segale Pelkey of Barre, Teresa Segale Kajenski of Williston; nine stepgrandchildren; one sister, Suzanne Couture Wilette of Graniteville; one brother, Laurent P. Couture of Barre; sister-in-law Barbara Kerin of Montpelier. Ray Couture was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He dedicated his entire life to the love and well being of his family.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Guare and Sons Funeral Home 30 School Montpelier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m., in St. Augustine Church in Montpelier. Interment will be in the Berlin coach Bobby Petrino.

send online condolences, please visit www.readyfuneral.com JAMES P. REDMOND MONTPELIER James P. Redmond, 58, formerly of Calais and more recently of Middlesex, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, in Rowan Court Nursing Home. He was born on June 3, 1948, the son of Paul S.

and Catherine (DeGuise) Redmond in Montpelier. He attended St. Michael's Graded School and graduated from St. Michael's High School in 1966. He later graduated with an associates degree from Castleton State College.

After high school, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He worked in communications and was stationed in Japan. For many years he, his father and his brother owned and operated Paul's Home Bake Shop on Main Street in Montpelier, then he and his brother acquired the business from their father. He later ran Vermont Smoke and Cure a wholesale meat company in South Barre.

On Nov. 17, 1973, he married Linda Dewey in Montpelier. She predeceased him on June 12, 1999. He married Toni Moodie on Oct. 5, 2002, in Middlesex.

She also predeceased him on March 13, 2004. Memberships include St. Augustine Church and the Montpelier Elks Club. Suvivors include two daughters, Jamie Redmond of Colchester, and Katie Redmond of Plaistow, N.H.; four stepchildren, Tonia Zampieri of Raleigh, N.C., Carisa Zampieri of Washington, D.C., Paula Zampieri of Washington, D.C., and Richard Moodie of Montpelier; two brothers and their wives, Paul Redmond and his wife Mary of East Montpelier and Ed Redmond and his wife Ruthie of Scottsdale, one sister, Kathleen Germana and her husband Richard of Waterbury Center; one sister-in-law, (Michael's wife); nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. VIOLETTE JILL E. VIOLETTE BOLTON Jill Elizabeth Violette, 47, of Sports Club Drive died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at the home of her brother, Randall Violette in Colchester, surrounded by her family. Born on July 26, 1959, in Barre, she was the daughter of Joseph E. and Phyllis (Leavitt) Violette.

She attended Barre Town Elementary School and graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre in 1977. In 2000, she received her bachelor of arts in psychology from Trinity College and completed her master's class requirements in mental health counseling from the University of Vermont, both in Burlington. She served an internship with the Washington County Youth Services Bureau. On June 9, 2002, she married Claude Brousseau in South Starksboro. They made their home in Starksboro and later that year moved to Bolton Valley where they have since resided.

She and her first husband, Stephen Goss, operated Onion River Pottery in Winooski. She later worked for the Howard Mental Health Services in Burlington. Jill was an avid reader and enjoyed winter sports. She was also co-founder of Dragon Heart Vermont, a breast cancer survivors' support group of dragon boat racers at the Burlington Sailing Center. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Caitlin Goss, and her son, Isaac Goss, all of Bolton; her father and stepmother, Joseph and Carmelita Violette of Williamstown; four brothers, Donald Violette of Barre, William Violette of Rouses Point, N.Y., Randall Violette and his partner, John Loso of Colchester, and Christopher Violette and his wife, Louise of Barre Town; three nieces, Shannon, Emily and Alicia Violette; her uncle, Daniel Violette of South Barre; cousins; a stepsister, Crista Ordway and her husband, Ned, and their daughters, Sidney and Alexandra of Washington.

Her mother, Violette; a sister, Sandra Violette; an uncle, Bernard Violette; and an aunt, Elizabeth Violette, predeceased her. Lois Yvonne "Vonnie" Zawasky Coyne, 72, died Monday, Nov.

6, 2006, in the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, S.C. She was born in Kane, on Sept. 3, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Francena Zawasky.

She was a homemaker and a member of Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Bluffton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael A. Coyne of Bluffton; three sons and daughter Christopher and Terry Coyne of Edison, N.J., Patrick and Kerry Coyne and Andrew and Donna Coyne, both of Suwanee, one daughter, Neena Woolley and companion, Thomas Stoe Jr. of Sevierville, and nine grandchildren.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10. The family will receive friends at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, from 5 to 7p.m. on Thursday, Nov.

LINDA SUSAN WALD SHELBURNE Linda Susan Wald passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at home in Shelburne in the arms of her husband. Born in Creston, Iowa, on July 24, 1946, she was the daughter of Ralph and Murrel (Clary) Semmler. Linda graduated from Creston High School and received her nursing degree from Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha. She married Steven Lewis Wald on Sept.

2, 1970, and worked tirelessly as the head nurse at the same hospital supporting the two while her husband earned his medical degree. After residency and the birth of her two children in Cincinnati, the family moved to Shelburne in 1981. She is predeceased by her only sister Judith Cosgrove and her parents. Linda was a devoted mother and best friend to her son Aaron David Wald and daughter Sarah Schoen Wald. Linda was an accomplished chef, philanthropist and the best mother any child could ever begin to hope for.

DALTON SOUTH BURLINGTON Betty Anne Dalton, 79, of South Burlington died unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, in her home. She was born in Portland, Maine, on Sept.

27, 1927, the daughter of the late Edward and Thelma (Harris) Richardson. On March 9, 1946, Betty married W. Donald Dalton Sr. in Portland, Maine. During the 1970s she was employed with Jan's Footwear.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Burlington. Betty was the first and the tenth president of the Eldoes of the B.P.O.E. 916. She was an active member of RSVP, The Order of the Eastern Star, South Burlington Senior Citizens, Heineberg Senior Citizens, for meals sites and thenjoyed. volunteering and was a University Mall walker for many years.

Betty was very creative and artistic. Her talents were expressed in her many paintings and sewings. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting where she made over 100 lap robes for the area nursing home residents. She had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed dancing with her husband Don. Betty is survived by her husband of 60 years, W.

Donald Dalton Sr. of South Burlington; two children, Cheryl "Kish" Swift and her husband, John, of Fishers, Ind. and William D. Dalton Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Essex Junction; five grandchildren, Heidi Dalton of Burlington, Heather Myott and her husband, Roger, of Jeffersonville, Major Jennifer Bailey and her husband, Major Shawn Bailey, of Fort Campbell, David Dalton of Knoxville, and Hans Swift and his wife, Teresa, of Fort Wayne, two great-grandchildren, Peter and Paul Swift; three stepgrandchildren, Mackenzie Bohlen of Portland, Maine, Zachery Bohlen and his wife, Alyssa, of Roslindale, and Lindsay Bohlen of Boston, one sister, Barbara Hartford and her husband, Lyle, of Maine; one brother, Charles Richardson and his wife, Eleanor, of North Carolina; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, David Mark Dalton in 1980 and by a brother, Edward Richardson Jr. A celebration of her life CORRECTION HAZEL MAY HUGHES FRITZ SOUTH BURLINGTON Hazel Fritz, 84, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, in the home she shared with her daughter Tami and son-inlaw Brian. Deep appreciation to Dr. John Fitzgerald.

ESSEX JUNCTION ERDELYI, Judith Ann A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church in Essex Junction by the Rev. Charles Ranges S.S.E., officiating. Servers at the altar were Sister Yvonne Martell, D.H.S., and Joseph Augostine.

Judy's sister Jane Fitzell covered her casket with the church pall. Judy's husband Charles then lovingly placed the crucifix on her pall covered casket. Readings during the Mass were proclaimed by Judy's children, daughter Julie Schepers and son John Erdelyi. The prayer of the faithful was offered by her son Joe Erdelyi. Offertory gifts were presented by grandchildren Marley, Jordan and Alexander.

Special musical selections were provided by Judy's close friends and co-choir members of the Holy Lawrence Senior Choir directed by Gary Moreau including "Be Not Afraid," "The Lord is My Sheperd," and a comforting solo by director Gary Moreau of "Ave Maria." A touching eulogy of remembrance was shared with all attending by Judy's daughter Lisa. Bagpiper Richard Blake, a member of the "Pipes and Drums of St. Andrews" band performed "Amazing Grace" as Judy's casket was carried to the hearse. Bearers were John Erdelyi, Joe Erdelyi, Alan Perry, Jon Marcus, Bill Fitzell and Jack Drew. A reception followed in the parish hall.

Burial will be in the spring in the family lot in St. Thomas Cemetery, Underhill Center, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were by John D. Workman of the A.W. Rich Funeral Home Essex Chapel, 57 Main Essex Junction.
