Shirley Echolson of Windsor Locks, and Helen L. Loring, 43. formerly of South Burlington and Hinesburg, Vt, a stockbroker and vice president of investments, died Dec. 13, 1990, in Scottsdale, at Shadow Mountain Health Care.

Born in Iowa, she graduated from the University of Iowa in 1970. She worked in the brokerage industry for more than 20 years; she was past member of the Drexel, Burnham, Lambert Executive Club and a past Business and Professional Women's Young Dodds of Newmarket. N.H.; one brother, Ray Shephard of Stowe; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m.

RAYMOND J. BUSHEY JR. ST. ALBANS Raymond J. Bushey 52, died Thursday, Dec.

13, 1990. in Verdelle Village. He was born in St. Albans, Aug. 8, 1938, the son of Raymond J.

and Mary (St. Andrews) Bushey Sr. He is survived by four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel.

Friends may call from noon until the hour of the funeral at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 S. Main St. Albans. GEORGE EDWARD GAUTHIER SWANTON George Edward Gauthier, 58, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away Wednes- day evening, Dec. 12, 1990,: at the Greenwich Street Home of his daughter and son-in-law, Georgette and Hank Lauzon.

George was self-employed as a painter until he was forced to retire because of ill health. He was a member of the Church of the Nativity in Swanton, where he longed to the Holy Name Society, He also regularly attended St. Joseph Church in Isle La Motte. He was born in St. Albans, April 2, 1932, the son of Leo Paul and Eugenie (St.

Denis) Gauthier. He attended schools in Swanton, and on Nov. 15, 1952, he married the former Theresa Lessor, who survives him. In addition to his wife of Swanton, George is survived by two sons, Maurice Gauthier of Alburg, and Rene Gauthier and his fiance, Rose Hill and her two children, Matthew Barnes and Amanda Hill, all of St. Albans; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Georgette and Hank Lauzon, and Denise and Tom Turtle, all of Swanton; five grandchildren, Jodi and Jesse Lauzon, and Danny, Carrie, and Craig Barratt, all of Swanton; four brothers, Gerald Gauthier of Enos-burg, Conrad Gauthier of Swanton, Dennis Gauthier of Bristol, and Henry Gauthier of Georgia; three sisters, Mrs, Lucille Boivin of St.

Albans, Mrs. Ger-maine Creller of Swanton, and Mrs. Odna Hemingway of St. Albans; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mrs.

Rachel Paquette, and a brother, Jean-Paul Gauthier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1 1 a.m. from the Church of the Nativity, with interment following in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery in Swanton. died Wednesday evening, Dec. 12, 1990, in Copley Hospital in Morris-ville following a short illness. She was born Oct. 24, 1906, the daughter of Maroni and Del-phia (Peck) Sallies. In 1925, she married Walter Snow, who predeceased her in 1969.

Mrs. Snow was a schoolteacher for many years, starting at the age of 18. For several years she taught in a one-room schoolhouse in the Brownsville section of Stowe. She was the last teacher to teach in this schoolhouse. Following that she taught elementary grades in Milton and Wilmington.

Mrs. Snow returned to college full time in 1956, at the age of 50, and received her bachelor's degree from Johnson State College in 1958. BURLINGTON, VT 05401 B63 5912 l-rivr-im rr I I CALVIN JOSEPH PLOOF SR. Catvin Joseph Ploof 66, of 47 Front St. was taken peacefully to his eternal rest Dec. 12, 1990. At the time of his death at his family home, he was surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Calvin was born in Burlington on Nov. 8, 1924, the son of Raymond J. Sr. and Dorothy (Gelinas) Ploof. He was married in Burlington on Sept.

26, 1945. to the former Marjorie Gonyea. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, followed by service in the Marine Corps Reserve, and, later, with Company of the Vermont Army National Guard. He was a letter carrier for the U.S.

Post Office for 28 years in the South End from 1945 to 1973. While raising a family of 13 children, he was also employed by the Grand Union Co. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. Joseph's parish. He was'a member for many years of the Burlington Military Band and the choir at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

For many years he served as a scoutmaster of Burlington Troop 14 of the Boy Scouts. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marjorie of Burlington; his mother, Dorothy L. Ploof of Burlington; his 13 children seven sons and their spouses, Calvin J. Jr. and Laurie of Williston, Michael A.

and Carol of South Burlington, William J. and Allison of Grand Isle, Frederick N. and Kelly of Grand Isle, Mark G. and Tina of Colchester, Reginald E. of Burlington, and Martin and Michelle of Burlington; six daughters and their spouses, Leah and Jerry Kirby of Colchester, Jacquelyn and Ken Wales of South Burlington, Denise and James Monahan of Florida and Milton, Jean and Michael Gay of Georgia, Joan and Michael Bogus of Starksboro, and Barbara and Donald Thibeault of Monkton; 34 grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Maurice and Helene (Ploof) Thayer of Essex, Bernard and Catherine (Ploof) CouillarJ of Burlington, Bernard and Phyllis (Ploof) DeVoid of Fer-risburgh, Richard and Mary Ploof Sr.

He was predeceased by his father in 1965; a brother, Leo, in 1944; and his great-granddaughter, Jessica Marie Kirby, on April 12, 1990. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington. Visiting hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ready Funeral Home, South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington. ROBERT W. MORRIS ESSEX JUNCTION Robert V.

Morris, 72, of 3 Prospect St. passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 1990, in Fanny Allen Hospital in Colchester. He was born in Lawrence, Aug. 4, 1918, the son of Raymond and Elizabeth (Walker) Morris.

He married the former Barbara Earlene Talbert in Burlington on Dec. 30, 1948. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II.

He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1978, after 20 years as a postal clerk with the Essex Junction Post Office. He was a member of Essex VFW Post 6689. Bob was proud to be of service to his community when he joined the Essex Junction Fire Department in 1960 as a volunteer fireman. As a lifetime member of the Cards of Thanks The family of Bill McCuin would like to thank the Manchester Rescue Squad, the doctors and staff at Northshire Medical Center, the doctors and nurses at Southwestern Medical Center, ICU and the 4th floor, for their kindness shown to us at the time of Bill's passing.
