23 THE BURLINGTON FREE PRESS FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, 1994 VERMONT DEATHS DAY IN COURT In Brief Cambridge students won't join school CAMBRIDGE Voters rejected Thursday a commitment to send Cambridge's fifth- and sixth-graders to a proposed middle school in the Lamoille North Supervisory district. The vote was 154-116, said Pat Guillemette, chairwoman of the Lamoille Union High School board. School officials said they proposed a union middle school for students in the towns of Belvi-dere, Cambridge, Eden, Hyde Park, Johnson and Waterville because Lamoille Union High School is crowded. The middle school would qualify for 50 percent funding from the state if at least two of the six towns agreed to send their fifth- and sixth-graders to the school. Only Johnson has agreed to do so.
