Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Donald G. Lambert, son of Donald G. Lambert Sr. of Morrisville, was recently promoted to his present rank while serving aboard the guided missile cruiser USS Cape St. George, whose home port is Norfolk, Va.

The South Burlington High' School Speech Team won the state title in the Vermont State Forensics Tournament. Clarke of Shelburne died unexpectedly Feb. 13, 1995, in Naples, while vacationing with his wife, Jeannette. Mr. Clark was born in New York City, N.Y., the son of George M. Clarke and Annie Attebury Clarke.

He was a graduate of Exeter, Princeton, Class of 1931, and Harvard Law School. Upon graduating from law school, he joined his father's law firm at 40 Wall New York City. As he held a commission from four years of Princeton R.O.T.C., he was called to active duty shortly after the outbreak of World War He was appointed a professor of military science and tactics at Michigan State College and subsequently was called to Washington to serve on the Eastern Regional Renegotiation Board, renegotiating contracts for the Army. He left the Army at the end of the war with the rank of lieutenant colonel, but remained on the board as a civilian, eventually becoming its chairman until he retired in 1965. Mr.

Clarke is survived by his wife, Jeannette Litchfield Clarke of Shelburne; a son, George M. Clarke of Stone Mountain, a daughter, Sandra Clarke Walter of Bryn Mawr, a grandson, William Todd Walter of Upper Mont-clair, N.J.; a granddaughter, Constance Walter Wehner of Bryn Mawr; and three great-grandchildren. ALBERT A. CUSSON CHARLOTTE Albert A. Cusson, 66, of Ferry Road died Thursday, Feb.

16, 1995, at his residence following a short battle with cancer. He was born in Milton on Dec. 16, 1928, the son of the late Abraham and Florence (Whitehead) Cusson. He was married in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Oct. 10, 1951, to the former Eleanor Spear.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with Parker Danner as a mechanic for more than 30 years, retiring in January 1991. He was known and loved by many people and will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Charlotte; his children, David "Sparky" and his wife, Cindy, of Essex Junction, Dale of Huntington, Darlene Wright and her beloved friend, Don Therrien, of Charlotte, Danny and his wife, Wendy, of Addison, Dede Therrien and her husband, Randy, of Hi-nesburg, Dawn St.

15, 1995, at 11 a.m. in St. Louis Church in High-gate Center by the pastor, Rev. Charles Ranges, S.S.E. Joining Father Ranges in the services was the Rev.

Evelyn Manzella, rector of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Swanton, who proclaimed the readings from scripture. Also assisting at the Mass was Sister Mary Ellen Theriault of St. Louis parish. Altar server was Alexina Ledoux and music for the Mass was performed by Andrew LaRoc-que, soloist, accompanied by Louise Loomis, organist. Lila's crucifix was placed on her casket by her granddaughter, Nicole La-roche, and special words of remembrance were shared by another granddaughter, Kim The offertory gifts were presented by all of Lila's grandchildren, Michelle Deslandes, Julie Bushey and Kim, Nicole and Brent Laroche.

In attendance and forming an honor guard was a delegation from IBM. Also attending were delegations from the Bingo Committee, the Parish Council and the Ladies of St. Anne of St. Louis parish, Highgate town offices and the Highgate Recreation Department, the Highgate School Board, the Highgate Home School Club and the Highgate Elementary School kitchen staff, Chevalier Well Drilling and Franklin Lamoille Bank. Interment followed in the family lot in Highgate Center Cemetery with Father Ranges and Rev.

Manzella reading committal prayers. Bearers were Luc Deslandes, David Bushey, Tim Devaney, Bruce Bevins, Larry Bevins and Walter Medor. SOUTH BURLINGTON THOMAS, Herlene Lister Graveside services were held Thursday, Feb. 16, 1995, at 10 a.m. in Resurrection Park Cemetery with Monsignor John Fradet officiating.

Helen (Flax) Furie, 89, died at home Feb. 16, 1995. She was born in Glens Falls, N.Y., on Jan. 20, 1906, the daughter of Rev.

William Flax and Millie (Rosenberg) Flax. Mrs. Furie worked for Western Union and later as a bookkeeper for the Fashion Shop in Burlington, Vt. She was a member of Ohavi Zedek Synagogue and of Beth Torah Synagogue in North Miami Beach. She was the widow of Erving Furie, who predeceased her Sept.

10, 1972. Mrs. Furie is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Lillian Malenovsky, Eva Witten, Sarah Rosenberg and Rose Epstein. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

in Ohavi Zedek Synagogue, 188 N. Prospect Burlington, with Rabbi Joshua Chasan officiating, assisted by Cantor Jerrold Held. Interment will follow in Hebrew Holy Society Cemetery, Patchen Road, South Burlington. Preparation rites were by the Jewish Sacred Society. Contributions may be made to Ohavi Zedek Synagogue.

Arrangements are by Boucher and Prit-chard Funeral Directors. ALFRED J. LaFRANCE WILLISTON Alfred J. La-France passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 1995, at his home.

ADAM YATSEVICH WEST SWANTON Adam Yatsevich, 76, a longtime resident of this area, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 15, 1995, in Fletcher Allen Health Care, MCHV Campus, in Burlington. Adam is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Pauline Gas-coigne; his daughter and son-in-law, Yolanda and Norm Mackay of Colchester; his son, Adam Yatsevich of Birch Run, one granddaughter, Tonya Creighton and her husband, David, of Chicago, four grandsons, Michael, Jason and Bett Yatsevich of Birch Run, and Shawn Mackay of Essex Junction; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral high Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Amadeus Church in Alburg. Interment will be in the spring in the family lot in Ascutney. 11, 1995, after a brief hospital illness. She was the widow of Omer Dumais, whom she married Jan. 13, 1925, in Ramore, Ontario. Born in St. Felix-de-Valois, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Clarisse (St.

Aubin) Robillard. Mrs. Dumais was a resident of the New Britain area for 57 years. She was a former bearing inspector at Fafnir Bearings in New Britain, retiring in 1966. Mrs.

Dumais was a member of St. Paul's Church in Kensington and Berlin Senior Citizens. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Dumais of Newing-ton, Paul and Lorraine Dumais of South Burlington, and Donald Dumais of Meriden; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Joseph Malena of Wolcott, and Lillian (Malicki) and Joseph LaCombe of New Britain; a sister, Florentine Gelinas of Ramore; 10 grandchildren, including Valerie (Dumais) Robert of Omaha, and Matthew Dumais of Burlington, 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in St. Paul's Church in Kensington, with interment in St.
