Burtis W. Goodfellow Special to the Free Press BARRE, Feb. 19. Burtis W. Goodfellow, OPA board supervisor for northeastern Vermont and one of the 1 jtter-known sportsment in this state, died suddenly at 5:30 yesterday afternoon.

He was about 59 years of age. "Bert" Goodfel low, who was for many years iden tified with the automobile business in Barre, had in recent years made his home on the Worcester road out of Montpelier. Brennan, PA, officiating at a solemn high mass of requiem, assisted by Rev. Patrick Hannon as deacon and Rev. Robert Joy sub-deacon. Rev. T.

J. Leonard of Middle' ury was in the sanctuary. The bea.ers were Edward Kiely, Henry Charles Mc-Cormick, Thomas Leary, Hugh Keefe and Frederick Shank. Burial was in St. Joseph's cemetery where Father Hannon read the committal prayers assisted by Father Leonard.

Attending from out of town were Mrs. Hanna Igoe and Mrs. Nora Davis of New York city, William Muhoney of Detroit, Georee Oliver of Hudson, N. Pfc. Francis Lafayette of Camp Gruber, and Miss I 1 Leonard of Middlebury.

There were many floral and spiritual bouquets. Funeral of Mrs. Gibbons Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Gibbons were held in St. Stephen's church yesterday morning, with Rev.

John B. McGarry officiating at a high mass of requiem. The bearers were Eugene Jubell, Raymond Mongeon, George Siegrest, August Sourmail. Maurice Sour- mail and Harrv Hardacre. Burial was in St.

Joseph's cemetery, where Father McGarry read the committal prayers. Ernest N. Partch Special to the Free Press HINESBURG. Feb. 19.

Ernest Tf. Partch. 68, life-long resident here died today in a Burlington hos pital. He was taken there by am bulance Sunday afternoon. Mr.

Partch was born at Hines-burg Sept. 23, 1876. He married Jennie Shattuck who died in 1938. He was a member oi. the Congregational church of Hinesburg.

Surviving are two sons, Leo and Donald of Hinesburg; and two daughters, Mrs. Erma Matthews, MontDe1ier: and Mrs. Thera Thurs ton, Essex Junction. He is also sur vived by one sister, Mrs. Miiarea Crowley, Hinesburg; four grand children and two great grandcnii-dren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday in the Hinesburg Federated church at 2. A prayer service will be held at his late home at 12:30. Interment will be in the Hinesburg cemetery. H. P.

Weldon Clark of Hardin, two Drotners, jonn, Cruso, N. and Robert, Yakima, Wash. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 in the Bordoville church, with Rev. Ochs of Rochester and Bev. -Thurber of Barre, officiating.
